Hold on tightly to your hats, everybody. The force of nature that is Jack Robertson has come soaring through the doors with his latest EP release, Risk of Rain, which is neatly wrapped up with emotional hooks and melodies that will calm your nervous system with just a single listen.

Jack has proven that musically, he is absolutely on the correct career path for him that he should be, following the release of Risk of Rain where the depth of production and collaboration is exceptionally strong, and it flows with a respectable, and solid foundation for his ongoing, ever-improving sound.

While there is always a Risk of Rain in life, Jack’s EP proves that you need to take that risk and sometimes give your heart away, even if you understand the consequences that it may be given back to you in a slightly different condition. This EP is for the hopeless romantics who feel a lot inside their souls. Captured with light and dark, it holds a lot of honesty within five undeniably stunning tracks.

Jack’s songwriting skills go beyond standard indie-pop music; he builds connection with his fans with sensitivity, which is not watered down to please anybody, his ability to be an open book, and the way he can relate life to nature, which is a big win.

One notable song that stands out in all its glory is Lovesick, which opens with the piano being played and features harmoniously skilled friend, Anderson Rocio, jumping in with the collaboration of the year. While Lovesick does send a little stab through the heart for those who can relate, it is still very well-articulated and a special edition to the EP.

Not every song on Risk of Rain is straight-up serious, emotional business, such as Easy, which is high energy, and features flares of summertime moments, a perfect way to continue before the more sombre vibes of the rest of the EP come through.

Jack has poured every ounce of love, hope and delicacy into Risk of Rain, shaping a piece of art that he can be forever proud of, and it comes across in the best of ways.
