Welcome back to On the Radar!
This week, I am proud to present Wellington-based SKRAM, who are elite in the field of their heartfelt, accepting songs, open minds and have a belief that being your best, positive self helps the world go round.
Being unapologetically and authentically themselves has awarded SKRAM a lot of hot points in the book - making them unsung heroes of the scene.
In fact, while writing this On the Radar feature, I thought of a great metaphor for how SKRAM come across: like Spiderman, saving the world one song at a time. Instead of shooting webs from their fingers, they shoot out the prettiest purple flowers and all of the rainbows that you could only imagine in the depths of your mind.
Influentially, they share this uplifting glow, like a warm summer evening that speaks to the soul and says “hey, this is a safe space, and you are going to love it here, because we care about you.”
While there are other creatives that bring similar energy out, SKRAM are able to carry this across with the best flare and they assure that their listeners know they mean what they say, and equally, who they are.
SKRAM are a band to keep your eyes on because sublime tunes with sincere meaning behind them accompanied with kindness is paving the way for a dazzling future, and I couldn’t be more impatient to see how their journey continues to pan out.
