Late Day Sun is the latest, stunning piece from Becca Caffyn who incorporates nostalgic feelings and sentimentality into this heartfelt new release.
Becca is someone who lets us into her inner world and her thoughts of the past that cover you in goosebumps. She knows how to encapsulate depth and beauty with such elegance that goes beyond her years, which matches perfectly in Late Day Sun.
As a visual representation, Late Day Sun makes me feel as though I am sitting at the bottom of a garden amongst the prettiest of wildflowers, soaking in the last of the evening rays with close friends. The picnic is packed, and the music is flowing, the understanding of what life is and what’s to come is just… there. Yet, there is a sense of wonder. Wondering what the next step is, what the next move is, and the brightness comes through with soft glows.
Becca has accomplished such a tranquil corner of music with Late Day Sun, and while there are tones of sadness in the song and maybe the visual representation doesn’t precisely align with what the lyrics are, it goes to show that Becca’s hard work can take you to any place that you can imagine and believe in.
Becca’s view on the world is remarkable, with words placed in Late Day Sun such as “this world that I’ve barely seen, it’s running circles around me….” wraps your old soul heart up, packs it neatly into an envelope and allows it to be opened again with a different perspective.
Since having the opportunity to interview Becca in 2022, I have been in true awe of how she brings her thoughts to life and is carefully articulate. The excitement for her never-ending potential lives on daily through the music she consistently produces and Late Day Sun is testament to what Becca is capable of.
Becca certainly is one to watch, and will continue to be an artist that is high on the Welcome to the Gig radar.
